Compatibility before customization
The firmware matters.
TV size and brand alone do not establish support. TVPilot checks the actual model, firmware and local debugging connection.

What you need
- An Android phone compatible with the published release. The current implementation minimum is Android 8.0 / API 26.
- TV and phone on the same local network; working authenticated network ADB and physical approval of the TV prompt.
- Completed TV setup, the exact verified profile, and a saved restore record before changes.
Limits to plan around
- Android 11+ pairing-code wireless debugging is not supported by this implementation.
- The verified Xiaomi firmware requires an explicit fallback because its stock Home has a higher priority. The fallback disables Android TV Home for user 0 and records its exact prior state for Restore.
- Netflix compatibility is not established by installing a launcher or showing its tile. DRM, provider certification and the app itself still matter.
- Continue Watching depends on provider-published data. Reliable Hotstar resume thumbnails are not guaranteed.
- No promised ad-free streaming, Gemini feature upgrade, RAM-cleaner behavior or automatic global cache deletion.
- Remote, casting and HDMI behavior require checks on your own setup; no connected HDMI source was available for an earlier hardware playback test.
Measurements have limits too
In one matched development sample, launcher PSS was 70.85 MiB before and 22.24 MiB with TVPilot. System available memory differed by +8.30 MiB. Those are different measures: PSS describes launcher RAM, while available memory includes reclaimable memory and is not storage.
Home appearance was within the timing uncertainty, so this sample does not establish faster startup. One sample is not a performance guarantee, and it does not substitute for testing the production release.
